Shaina McGregor

Shaina McGregor was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  In 2014, she graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts with the Helen Tamiris Excellence in Dance award. In May she graduated from the Ailey/ Fordham BFA program in Dance with a minor in New Media and Digital Design and was an Apprentice with Ailey II for the 2017-2018 season. She has performed and taught in Mexico with JUNTOS Collective, The Wilder Project, and she has performed works by Nijawwon Matthews and Ebony Williams with XY Dance Project. Ms. McGregor was also a dancer in the film representing the Vessel at Hudson Yards with choreography by Matthew Rushing. Ms. McGregor has performed at Lincoln Center and New York City Center with The Ailey School and AAADT in “Revelations” and “Memoria.” She has attended summer programs at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Abraham.In.Motion, and ChoreoLab at Ballet Hispanico. This past December, she worked on a World Premiere Play “The Homecoming Queen” as the assistant choreographer to Hope Boykin. She also has worked with Francesca Harper on “The Let Go” created by artist Nick Cave and “Refrigerated Dreams” by Nona Hendryx.
